Scan IT Africa is the main distributor in Southern Africa for the
Wicks and Wilson Scanners. Many of Scan IT Africa’s existing
clients utilize the scanning facilities of these machines to scan
archive hardcopy documents and microfilms. One of Scan IT Africa’s
latest installations in our own bureau is the Wicks and Wilson 4100
roll film Scanstation which can scan 35mm and 16mm film at a rate
of 105 frames per minute, making it the fastest scanner of its kind.
The 4100 Scanstation is designed and manufactured to run continuously
for 24 hours, 7 days a week.
The association with Scan IT Africa has now lasted for 1 year and
has been very favourable to both companies:

- Spoornet (digitising approx. 500
000 wide format drawings)
- Various Libraries (digitising thousands
of archival drawings, pictures and photographs)
- Recently completed
a scanning contract for Momentum Life. A total of 25 million
images were scanned within a period of six
months with zero errors and minimal failures
- And most recently
being awarded the contract to scan and convert approx 3.7 million
microfiche
images for the University of the Free State SA-Media division.
