In many instances a business or individual has a document, image, drawing plan or similar that needs to be converted from a hard copy to a format that can be stored digitally, transmitted and so on. Digital scanning makes it possible for these documents to be transmitted, printed, read and so on. How is it done? An image scanner is used to duplicate the document and convert it to a digital format. It can then be reproduced, stored or referred to in the future. There are various types of scanners on the market with each one being designed according to what it is used for.

Many companies require digitally stored documents to be available on file for future reference. This also means that no real hardcopy needs to be kept which can be time consuming, take up space and be a mission to transport if you decide to move premises.

At Scan IT Africa we offer our converting, indexing and duplicating methods as professional services. We are able to scan more than just your regular sized document or image. We can do a whole lot more as we have access to our own state of the art Wicks and Wilson scanning equipment. We have microfiche scanners, aperture card scanners, microform scanners and document scanners that enable us to offer you a whole host of scanning service options to choose from.

For starters our wide format scanning is able to scan documents and drawings that are up to 914mm wide by 20m wide with ease. We can then provide you with the converted images in a smaller format for your use. With our general document scanning and indexing we can convert any original document into a digital format for you to use for your own purposes. This is a service that is generally provided to businesses that do not have their own flatbed scanners in the office. We also offer a reliable microfilm scanning service. This is where we create what is called a microform. It is a document that is identical to the original document, in scale, but only one twenty fifth of the size of the original.

Regardless of which of these types of scanning services you require, you are guaranteed to receive a dedicated and hands-on approach from our team. We have many years of experienced and will ensure that you are advised and provided with as much information on how long our scanning processes work and what sort of quality you can expect from the end result.

It is important that the document scanning bureau you use is able to offer you a variety of services all under one roof which is what we are all about at Scan IT Africa. We encourage you to request a quotation and further information regarding our services so that you can compare quotations and what is really on offer.
